Skalder ("Skalder", "we", "us") provides a digital signage platform: Studio, a web-based panel for managing screens, playlists and slides, paired with a lightweight player that runs on your own display hardware. These Terms govern your organization's use of that platform. By creating an account or using Skalder, you agree to them on behalf of your organization.
Skalder lets your organization manage physical or browser-based screens, group them into playlists, and publish slides β images, video, text, live weather, transit and flight data, calendars, and more β updated on your displays in near real time. Some slide types pull data from third-party sources (for example weather, transit, aviation, traffic, and sports data providers); we don't control those sources and can't guarantee their accuracy or availability. Where required by data providers (such as Statens vegvesen for DATEX traffic and travel time data), source attribution is displayed on paired screens, original language message content is preserved without distortion, and API credentials remain strictly confidential.
Skalder is organized around organizations, not individual users. The organization β not any single member β is the billing entity and the owner of its screens, slides and other content. Organization owners can invite and remove other members and assign their roles. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and any screen pairing codes confidential.
New organizations start with a 14-day trial at Pro-tier limits, no credit card required. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe and are limited by screen count as shown on our pricing page. If your trial ends or your subscription lapses without payment, you can still sign in and manage your account, but creating or pairing new screens is paused until you subscribe. Existing screens and content are not deleted for being over your plan's limit β only new screen creation and pairing is affected.
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your organization's Billing page; you'll keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
You agree not to use Skalder to publish content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have the right to display; to attempt to bypass screen-pairing security or access other organizations' data; or to use the service in a way that disrupts it for other customers.
You retain ownership of the media, text and other content your organization uploads or configures in Skalder. You grant us the license needed to store, process, and display that content back to your own paired screens as part of providing the service β nothing more.
We aim to keep Skalder available and responsive, but as with any hosted service we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. Players are designed to keep showing their last-known content if they temporarily lose their connection to Studio.
You may stop using Skalder and close your organization's account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, doesn't pay for a subscribed plan, or poses a security risk to the service or other customers.
Skalder is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including inaccuracies in third-party data feeds displayed on your screens.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continued use of Skalder after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
